Just as no two leaves in the world are exactly alike, every leaf in nature develops its own unique traits influenced by various factors during its growth.
In designing and crafting this necklace, I sought to balance symmetry and individuality. The two sets of leaves on either side are consistent in shape and size, yet each incorporates different metals and distinctive characteristics. This interplay of unity and variation reflects the diversity of nature and the untamed vitality of life.
The concept behind this necklace is not to replicate the perfection of a leaf but to capture its imperfect beauty in a natural state. It emphasizes the contrast between fullness and decay, portraying the cycle of life in its raw, unpolished truth.
The silver leaves symbolize lush, flourishing life, while the copper and brass leaves, after annealing and cutting, emulate the texture of withered, fallen foliage. Arranged from large to small, the sequence represents the journey of life, extending the narrative of a leaf’s existence from vitality to its eventual decline.
